McAllen, TX, June 25, 2019 – MDC Data Centers, the leading carrier-neutral data center provider on the US-Mexico border, announced today that industry veteran Ivan Eng had joined the company as Director of Strategic Planning. This new position is critical for the company as it continues growing its interconnection hubs on the edge of Mexico.
With over 20 years of telecom experience, Ivan will now lead the strategy and oversee the growth of the company after almost ten years at Bestel – one of the top network operators in Mexico in which he rose to become Strategic Negotiations Deputy Director. Before joining Bestel, Ivan worked more than a decade for MCM Telecom, where he led the company’s data network planning and business development as Sub-Director.
“So much of what we do at MDC is about creating an ecosystem of great connections, primarily for our clients but also within our team. I try to foster an environment of excellence by bringing together the best minds in the industry. The byproduct of this environment is great ideas that add value to our customers” said Juan Salazar, CEO of MDC. “Iván joining the team continues that endeavor. His experience in the market puts him in a privileged position to develop strategies that will provide the best advantages to our customers.”
MDC Data Centers has grown from one facility in McAllen, TX, to three facilities operating in Texas and two more in the roadmap for this 2019. The company has been successful with its Actively Neutral™ model supporting Mexico’s edge market like no other provider in the industry by hosting the largest concentration of Mexican networks in the United States.
“MDC has been like family for me over the past years during our customer-provider relationship,” said Ivan Eng, new Director of Strategic Planning of MDC. “The company’s position in the Mexican market is unparalleled due to its approach to neutrality and how MDC creates opportunities for its customers. Personally, joining the team which many, myself included, hold in high regard is truly an honor.”
